Where is Canes Galore' store? We moved to Troy, Virginia (near Charlottesville in Central VA) just off I-64, Zion Crossroads, in June 2006. The 'store' is our basement! We are handicap-accessible, and are open to visitors by appointment only. Please call ahead (800-346-6400 or 434-591-1125) and let us know when you want to see our cane stock in person -- usually open Mon-Fri 10-6 pm EST, and by appointment.
Where is the walk-in store that used to be in Pleasanton, CA? Canesgalore.com is a "virtural store" now. You can choose to order online, through our toll-free number, mail, or fax -- anytime day or night. We also have an eBay store, Canes For All Walks of Life. We are completely out of catalogs right now, but hope to print one up eventually.
What became of Frank Ferguson, the former owner? Frank Ferguson started in the cane business with the purchase of Bowerman's Pharmacy chain in Northern California in 1969. I offered to buy Canes Galore when he was ready to retire, and six months later (Jan. 2004) he did! He and Margie are happily retired to their garden and their travels. Frank mentors me on various questions as they come up, and holds the title of 'President Emeritus'. By the way, I am Frank's eldest, Valery. My husband John and I are happily taking care of all of Frank's customers, and welcome any new ones. By the way, in April 2006 Frank and Margie stood on the Great Wall of China, and in August 2006 took a cruise to Alaska! They are surrounded by family near the San Francisco Bay Area of California, and still make welcome recommendations to me from time to time.
