Walking Cane Sizing Guide
How to Find Your Perfect Cane Size
Getting the right cane size is essential for comfort, posture, and safety. A properly sized cane should allow your elbow to bend at a comfortable 15-20 degree angle when standing upright.
Quick Sizing Method
- Stand upright wearing your everyday shoes
- Let your arms hang naturally at your sides
- Have someone measure from the crease of your wrist to the floor
- This measurement is your ideal cane length

Adjustable Canes
Many of our canes feature adjustable shafts, making it easy to find your perfect fit. Look for "adjustable" in the product description. These canes typically adjust in 1-inch increments and are a great option if you are between sizes or if multiple people will use the cane.
Tips for Proper Cane Use
- Hold the cane on your stronger side (opposite to the side that needs support)
- Check the rubber tip regularly for wear and replace when smooth
- On stairs: lead with your stronger leg going up, weaker leg going down
- Posture matters: stand tall and do not lean over the cane
