Grip the Day. Own the Walk. Refuse to Slow Down.
Most handles force your hand into a narrow, uncomfortable grip that punishes you for every block you cover. The Soft Touch Wide Handle Derby Walking Stick throws that entire concept out the window. Its full 1-inch wide soft-touch handle spreads pressure across your palm instead of concentrating it into a thin ridge — so your hand stays relaxed, your grip stays confident, and you keep moving on your own terms. This is what happens when a cane is built around your comfort instead of an afterthought.
Below that handle sits a striking gray wood shaft that commands attention wherever you take it. The natural wood grain catches light with a smoky, sophisticated finish that pairs as easily with a tailored blazer as it does with your favorite weekend jacket. At 36 inches, this walking stick is sized for those who stand tall and walk with purpose — a tool of defiance that makes a statement before you say a word.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the 1-inch wide handle different from a standard cane handle?
Standard handles are typically half an inch wide or less, forcing all your weight into a narrow strip across your palm. The 1-inch wide soft-touch handle spreads that pressure across a much larger surface area, which means less fatigue, fewer pressure points, and a grip that actually feels good after hours of use. Once you try it, you won't go back.
How do I know if 36 inches is the right size for me?
Stand in your regular shoes with your arms relaxed at your sides. The top of the handle should line up with the crease of your wrist. For most people between 6'0" and 6'3", the 36-inch length is ideal. If you're between sizes or want an adjustable option, check out our sizing guide or grab the Adjustable Black Soft Touch for a custom fit.
How do I care for the gray wood shaft?
Wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth after use. For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen the cloth — never soak the wood. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight and avoid leaning it in damp corners. Check out our full care guide for more tips.
Can I take this walking stick on an airplane?
Yes. Walking sticks are permitted through TSA security and on board as a personal item. No need to check it — carry it right to your seat. We recommend a rubber tip cover to protect the tip during travel.
Does this make a good gift?
Absolutely. The Soft Touch Derby is one of our most-gifted walking sticks. The wide handle comfort makes it a thoughtful choice for anyone who values both style and substance. Pair it with a best-selling accessory to make it unforgettable.
